Sea Pines Vacation Rentals
The Sea Pines Resort is one of the first planned communities in the United States. In 1957 Charles Fraser had the foresight to develop a resort on Hilton Head Island that would blend into the environment rather than stand out. This unique design, described as the 'Sea Pines Style' or 'Lowcountry Architecture' was defined by large overhangs, low roof slopes, 'natural' colors on the houses that blended into the background and native plantings. He and his cohorts developed 'T-Streets' with houses along the oceanfront (instead of roads) and subsequent rows of homes set back from the ocean. Sea Pines is the largest of the gated communities on Hilton Head Island (approximately 55 square miles) and can be entered by the main gate off of Greenwood Drive (off of the Sea Pines Circle) or the Ocean Gate that is found at the end of South Forest Beach.
A variety of accommodations are available within the Sea Pines Resort. From 1 bedroom villas to 9 bedroom homes. Views can include oceanfront, ocean view, golf views, lagoon views and landscape views.
The Sea Pines Resort offers close to 8 miles of pristine beaches and is home to the Harbour Town Marina, the Candy Striped Lighthouse, The South Beach Marina Village ( home of the infamous Salty Dog Café ) and the Sea Pines Beach Club.
Within the resort, guests can rent a bike and explore more than 15 miles of bike trails that wind their way past tranquil lagoons, 3 championship golf courses including Harbour Town Golf Links which is home of the PGA Tour RBC Heritage Tournament presented by Boeing, plus an assortment of specialty shops and restaurants. There is also ample family entertainment during the summer months at the Harbour Town Marina with Greg Russell concerts and also at the Salty Dog with a variety of musicians. Adult entertainment can be enjoyed at the Sea Pines Beach Club.
Guests of the Sea Pines Resort find themselves returning year after year to enjoy all of the amenities that the resort has to offer.
