Things To Do While Staying In Sea Pines

Back to Blog

Sea Pines Plantation is one of the most widely recognized neighborhoods on Hilton Head Island by vacationers. It is also one of the largest plantations offering more than just residential homes and condos. Many vacationers often spend their whole vacation within the gates of Sea Pines with no need to venture out to other areas of the Island. While this is not recommended, because Hilton Head has so much more to offer throughout the whole island, but it is definitely possible!

Within the gates of Sea Pines you will find shopping plazas, restaurants, golf courses, horse stables, public gardens, tennis courts, marinas, water sport rentals, beach access, forest preserves, and miles of biking and walking paths. Sea Pines is large plantation, so if your vacation rental is not right on the beach, it will only be a bike ride away! The beaches in Sea Pines are private to homeowners and their guests, vacation renal guests, and resort guests.

If you are looking for a little more physical activity, check out the tennis centers and golf courses within Sea Pines. Lessons and clinics are available or sign up to play with your friends or family. If you don’t bring your own playing equipment, rental equipment will be available in the clubhouses. If you are an avid golfer, you will want to check out the Harbour Town Golf Links which is home to the PGA Golf Tournament, the Heritage.

Some areas to check out and spend the day exploring and sightseeing include Harbour Town and South Beach. Both of these areas are in Sea Pines and depending on where you’re staying will only be a bike ride away. Harbour Town is home the iconic Hilton Head Lighthouse and famous scenery of the rounded marina. Around the marina are shops, restaurants, bars, and live entertainment (during the summer seasons). South Beach is home to the ever so famous restaurant, the Salty Dog Café (yes, the t-shirts seen worn around the world!). This area is fun for families and kids love the ice-cream shops and live entertainment. There are a wide variety of restaurants open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Enjoy specialty cocktails while taking in the beauty of the salt marshes and waters around the marina. South Beach Marina is also provides watersport rentals, parasailing, nature tours, and charter fishing excursions.

A unique and relaxing thing to do in Sea Pines is checking out the Forest Preserve. You can walk, run or horseback ride along the nature trails and explore the ancient Indian Shell Ring. Here you can experience the ancient and colorful story of the earliest Lowcountry settlers.

Water, water, water! When it comes to activities on Hilton Head, the ocean and rivers are host to endless activities, both relaxing and adrenalin thrilling. A fun family experience that the kids will get a kick out of is taking a dolphin tour. The dolphins literally come up to the boat to say “hi” and allow for great photo opportunities. Parasailing, boating, water-skiing, tubing, kayaking, jet skiing, fishing, and stand-up paddle boarding are some of the many water activities to partake. There are several watersport companies on the south-end of Sea Pines that rent equipment by the day or hour or have guided tours.

No matter which vacation property you rent, you and your family are sure to have plenty to do within Sea Pines Planation!
